Vintage Altec 689B dynamic cardioid microphone, made in the USA.
This is a great-looking piece of classic Altec studio / broadcast-era equipment and an interesting alternative to the more common vintage Shure and Electro-Voice dynamics.
The 689B is a low-impedance cardioid dynamic microphone with a published frequency response of approximately 40 Hz–16 kHz. It has a warm, full vintage presentation and could be a fun character mic for vocals, guitar amps, horns, drums, spoken word, or general studio use.
This example retains its original Altec badge and dark green finish. It shows normal cosmetic wear from age and use, including scratches, small finish losses, and scuffs as shown clearly in the photos. I have intentionally photographed it closely so the buyer can judge condition accurately.
Condition: Good vintage cosmetic condition.
