- New foam inside grille
- New replacement capsule inside (Original capsule was damaged which resulted in loss of bass response)
- Grille was cleaned but shows discoloration
For sale is an AKG D1000E that sounds great with the new capsule installed. The original unfortunately tested poorly which is quite common with these older AKG mics so it was replaced. Keep in mind this new capsule is not from AKG so there is no confusion. That being said, you'll get a nice balanced response and new foam inside the grille which aids in plosive rejection.
This microphone has some wear on the body, but nothing that affects function. Normally the foam is completely missing inside or crumbling, which leads to a multitude of issues. Lastly, these AKG mics from the 70s were not the most durable or resistant to drops, so certainly be wary when buying them in general. If the seller is not offering much info on how it sounds and simple saying it works, I'd be weary.
