HOORAY!!!!! Ultra Rare 80 year old Paper Thins! These sound exactly like they were pulled right off a Vintage Art Tatum or Benny Moten recording. It doesn’t get more period correct than this!
The REAL DEAL. Vintage Zildjian Istanbul K Ultra Light Hihats in the very light and whispy, quick 12” size. Hell this is right after the LOW BOY and Jazz migrated north.
The end of the road for hand hammered, fast, dry, complex light and airy tone. A perfect and Paper Thin 393 over 405 grams.
They have that magic elixir of Dry and Complex with an extremely responsive feel and sound. Organic and yet smooth. Just magnificent sounding hihats. Glorious 8-decade-old golden patina mellows them to perfection.
It’s a miracle these paper thins survived 80 years! I believe they were owned by a very healthy mouse who played them with brushes.
Extremely rare. These cymbals are to be celebrated for their history, cultural musical significance, artistry, AND sound.
Forged in Turkey not long after Constantinople became “ISTANBUL,” they’ve been making music since bebop was invented and they have much more to say.
