Tone

The Super Studio 72 has a very transparent, crystal-clear clean sound with substantial headroom. Guitar notes remain distinct, punchy, and highly articulate, with a tight low-end response.

Because the circuit was designed to handle organs and keyboards as well as guitar, it was built to resist distortion. As a result, this is not an amplifier that produces the typical soft, compressed tube breakup associated with many American or British designs.

At higher volumes, it tends to remain remarkably clean before eventually producing a harder, more aggressive lo-fi gritwhen pushed to its limits.
