WORKING CONDITION: Excellent. All of the cables mate together nicely, and this Vibratone sounds fantastic. The noise floor is very low, so it will be great for recording.

PHYSICAL CONDITION:
Good. The front grille baffle is dislodged as seen in photos, so it presses in somewhat loosely when it is supposed to be glued in place. This seemingly has no effect on the tone of the unit or does it make any rattling noises. The tolex is in fairly good condition with no major tears or gouges in the speaker cabinet. The pedal and its connection cables are in very good condition for their age.

Note that the foam inside the case is starting to fall apart and become dusty, but will still serve nicely to protect it for shipping and transport. We'll wrap the amp before shipping to keep it clean inside.

INVENTORY #59018

BRAND: Fender

MODEL: Vibratone Model SPKV 1110

FUNCTION: Rotating Leslie Speaker Cabinet

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: This listing is for a 1967 Fender Vibratone Model SPKV 1110 Rotating Leslie Speaker w/ Flight Case. The Fender Vibratone is a vintage rotating speaker cabinet produced between 1967 and 1972. Designed specifically for guitarists during the CBS era, it was essentially a rebranded Leslie Model 16 housed in a Fender-style Tolex cabinet. Unlike a standard amplifier, the Vibratone is a passive cabinet that requires an external driver amp to power its internal 10-inch 4-ohm speaker

SPECS:

  • Serial # 4103
  • Rotating Baffle: Instead of a rotating horn or speaker, it uses a spinning Styrofoam rotor positioned in front of a stationary speaker.
  • Doppler Effect: As the rotor spins, it intermittently blocks and redirects sound, creating a 3D Doppler effect that combines chorus, vibrato, and tremolo.
  • Two Speeds: A two-button footswitch allows users to toggle between Chorale (slow, ~40 RPM) and Tremolo (fast, ~340 RPM) speeds.
  • Frequency Range: The cabinet is notably mid-focused. Its original crossover system sends the midrange to the Vibratone while reflecting highs and lows back to the main amplifier's internal speaker.
  • Dims & Weight: The cabinet measures approximately 28.5" x 21.75" x 15" and weighs about 70–77 lbs.
  • Interface: It connects via a proprietary cable set and interface box that sits between your amp’s speaker output and the cabinet.
  • Finish: Early versions featured a simple Fender logo (Blackface style), while later models (1968+) included the "drip edge" aluminum trim common to Silverface-era amps.

ACCESSORIES INCLUDED: This item comes as seen in photos and includes its proprietary footswitch and cabling for connection to a guitar amplifier.

EXTRAS INCLUDED:

  • Custom ATA Flight Case w/ Wheels
