Rare 1920’s vintage Ludwig Pioneer Bass Drum in clean, playable shape. Features a period correct, landscape painted calfskin head by local artist. Both original calfskin heads installed. Shell is 22” in diameter so it should accept modern heads if wanted. Shell is 5”-6” deep and light to carry. Perfect piece for Farmer’s Market gigs and Folky jug band drummers. Price reflects my cost to restore, plus estimated Reverb fees of about 8% 🙄… If you review modern drum makers in this style, they are charging similar $ for mass produced drums. This drum is a surviving piece of Americana… more special than typical offerings as it’s one of a kind.
