The Alex is powered by the exact same central processing chip (the custom Lexichip) used in the higher-end Lexicon LXP-15. The core reverb engine mathematics inside the Alex are stripped-down, simplified versions of the LXP-15 algorithms. Lexicon essentially locked away most of the deeper parameters (like specialized high-frequency cuts, diffusion, and complex pre-delay routing) into fixed factory presets to make the Alex cheaper and easier to operate without menu diving -
