The 260VU Stereo VCA Compressor/Limiter is a 2U rackmount unit based on the original VCA compressor, the dbx 160 from the 1970s, commonly referred to as the “dbx 160VU.” Built part-for-part, with carefully recreated black can VCA’s using NOS 1970s transistors, the 260VU brings all the punch, snap, smack, and grit that made the original unit indispensable as a dynamics processor for drums, synth basses, rock piano, and more.
The 260VU Deluxe Edition adds dry/wet blend controls, a variable sidechain high pass filter (HPF), and even a switchable IRON feature that will engage our US-made, custom-wound output transformers for even more tonal options.
