Vintage 1976 Fender Bassman 100 Silverface Tube Amp Head & Speaker Cabinet

Offered here is a vintage Fender Bassman 100 Silverface tube amplifier head with its Fender Bassman 100 speaker enclosure. The head’s chassis serial number is A95722, which appears to date it to approximately 1976. The Bassman 100 speaker enclosure is serial number 8815.

Both the amplifier head and speaker enclosure are in superb cosmetic condition for their age. This is an impressive vintage Fender rig with the classic Silverface appearance, substantial power, and the big, clean sound for which these amplifiers are known.

The Bassman 100 is an all-tube, approximately 100-watt amplifier powered by four 6L6-type output tubes. It offers separate Bass Instrument and Normal channels, each with two inputs and independent Volume, Treble, Middle, and Bass controls, plus a Master Volume. Although designed as a professional bass amplifier, Bassman heads are also highly regarded by guitarists for their powerful clean tone, excellent pedal response, and rich tube overdrive when pushed.

This head has just received a brand-new matched quartet of Groove Tubes 6L6-S Medium power tubes. It sounds excellent—strong, full, clear, and powerful.

Please note that the amplifier produces a slight hiss during the first 20–30 seconds after startup. The hiss then goes away, and the amplifier operates and sounds great. Because this is a vintage tube amplifier, that symptom may indicate that some capacitors or another age-related component could require service at some point in the future. It does not presently prevent the amplifier from being played and enjoyed, but it is disclosed so the buyer knows exactly what to expect. No guarantee is being made regarding when future service may become necessary.
