A damn fine example of a the iconic 72' Telecaster Deluxe, reissued in exacting detail in '97 by Fender Japan, making this classic model available as the American originals surged out of reach.

Prized by collectors, in part, for production dates during the transition (MIJ to CIJ) to Tokai / Dyna Gakki under newly-expanded Fender quality standards.

However, much of the appeal stems from their unusual designation as unlisted or non-catalog models. This highly rare distinction applied to a very small number of limited models / colors, which were excluded from Fenders annual catalog, master assortment and export lists. Each model was created exclusively for an individual premier dealer, then built only in special runs of small quantities.

The guitar's in remarkable condition for its age and has basically been untouched /unplayed since the Colonel brought it back from Japan in the early 2010's. Once in Kentucky, he set it aside with plans to modify it for his own use, but the mods never materialized and for the next decade, time effectively stood still .

Per photos, guitar has only a few small dings / light scratches (back/sides only). A decal outline on back of body is more visible, though no attempt has been made to remove it.

Price includes shipping to US/Canada, but is still $300-$500 below comparable listings. Sorry, no case.
