Here we have a very fine 1956 Gibson GA-6 combo tube amp. Not only is the amplifier very clean inside and out, it is 100%original except 3 fresh filter caps. This is a rare find especially being 70 years old. This model is often referred to as Gibson's answer to the Fender Tweed Deluxe.

My amp technician of 40 years and I went through the entire amp to find it fully original and quite clean inside. We did notice 1 of the filter caps was replaced and the amp sounded weak. We decided to replace all 3 filter caps and remove the death cap. Next of course he cleaned the pots and input jacks and tightened everything up.

i cranked the amp up and it has that crunch-tone you want especially all the way up.

Now amp is ready to roll!

That 12" alnico Jensen blue back speaker is in great shape and sounds nice and tight. The picture of the speaker was before we cleaned the entire amplifier inside and out.

We are having and have had a lot of fun here at Gordy's Music! I was just remembering about 35 years ago a tour bus pulled up to our little shop, and who rolls right in and hangs out for an hour? Lenny Kravitz and his entire group, right about the same time I was selling many guitars to and chauffeuring around Dee Dee Ramone who had an apartment a block down from my house.
