Isle of Tone Luxe 66

For your consideration is an Isle of Tone Luxe 66 serial #80.

This is a premium build featuring the rare large RotoSound style enclosure, aged/distressed red finish, and 1960s Vox knobs!

The Luxe 66 is a very unique and versatile 2 transistor fuzz circuit. Like all of the original Isle of Tone fuzz circuit designs, the tone is heavily inspired by the legendary fuzz boxes of the 1960s. However, the Luxe 66 has some very unique controls & features when compared to most vintage fuzzes.

The Luxe 66 features a “Volume”, “Clarity” and “Fuzz” knob. The “Clarity” knob functions as a specialized input attenuator and low-cut filter, which attenuates the voltage flowing to the first stage transistor. Essentially, the “Clarity” knob acts like a Master Volume on a high wattage tube amp. This is the secret to the Luxe 66’s versatility, the “Volume“ & “Clarity“ knobs allow you to dial in tones ranging from overdrive all the way to saturated, thick fuzz. Because the level of fuzz tone you get from the Luxe 66 is based on volume, your amp plays a large part in your fuzz tone as well. Into a low volume amp, the Luxe 66 yields more Overdrive tones, but once you crank the volume on the amp you unlock very aggressive fuzz tones with your guitar volume turned up.

The final unique feature of the Luxe 66 is that the “Fuzz” knob is actually a treble tone control. Turned to the right you get the maximum treble, and then us the “Volume” and “Clarity” knobs to dial in the fuzz tone.

All Luxe 66 units are built around a 1950s Telefunken TFK OC glass germanium transistor and an NOS Newmarket NKT12 germanium transistor.

This is an incredible sounding and incredibly versatile fuzz from the modern day masters of Fuzz, Isle of Tone.

This listing includes the original box, hand stitched cloth storage bag, business cards from Isle of Tone, and an extra baseplate made of clear plexiglass.
