Vintage 1960's Ampex 2001 dynamic microphone High Z w accessories # 9

  You are looking at a 1960's era Ampex 2001 model dynamic microphone in the high impedance setting that comes with it's original cable, mic clip, pouch and box shown. The 2001 was an entry level microphone that was an affordable choice compared to the very expensive dynamic cardioid mics of that time.

 This is a still a quality piece that is very rugged and was used for basic use. A general broadcasting mic that could also be used for basic recording situations.

 The 2001 is a very lite weight design with a plastic handle and aluminum head that has omni-directional characteristics. This would make an excellent harp mic due to it's ease in which to hold and cup. The Hi Z setting gives you a dirtier tone that is void of bass and the signal strength on this mic is quite strong.

 The 2001 has a very mid century vibe and will be a fun piece to use if you like an older "rockabilly" tone.

 It should be noted that the mic has been clean and tested. It works like new with just lite wear.

 The plastic handle is free of any wear or fractures. The aluminum head shows lite tarnish but the Ampex label looks very nice and the front black grill is perfect. The mic has a perfect 10 foot cable that is soft, pliable and comes with the standard male RCA type connector with a detachable male 1/4 inch end connector for use with most audio equipment.  You get a couple of different options to work with.

 I'd rate the mic a very conservative 8 + on a scale of 1 - 10.

 The all metal mic clip fits the mic just as it should and will screw onto any stand you might have. It tilts accordingly and the tension can be adjusted.

 The black vinyl mic pouch is included and a great place to store the mic when not in use. The pouch is in very nice condition as well.

 Last but least is the Ampex 2001 model mic box which also shows lite wear but very good overall and a good place to keep all the items. 

        A fun rugged mic to use on the daily.
