Another gorgeous gem from my private collection...
... from a “Time capsule”, here we have a super clean and very rare tremolo-version of a 1968 Marshall JMP "Plexi" amp in collector-grade condition. This is a factory original example of one of history’s finest-sounding amps, not a reissue, not a repro, this is the real deal, one of the cleanest I've ever seen!
This is a 57 y.o. small box Marshall JMP “Tremolo 50” Amp in stunning, incredible, museum condition!
Great sounding point-to point wired amp, Drake transformers, it spot the original levant covering which is in very close to mint condition.
The trem-version has an aditional ECC83 tube and two additional controls (Speed + Intensity) for the tremolo-effect. The tremolo works fine but the original footswitch is not included.
This device is also in PERFECT operating order and has been professionally and expertly serviced over the years. Freshly serviced, this amp has been meticulously gone over to ensure optimal functionality and originality. A matched pair of excellent brand new TAD EL34-STR Redbase tubes was installed, bias adjusted and tuned to perfection, pots and switches were cleaned and lubricated, additional cleaning and final inspection.
Everything is original in this amp with the exception of some exhausted electronic components that were replaced, the three-prong power socket chassis mount (replacing the original two-pole socket) that was installed for safe and grounded operation and the Marshall logo (which is a modern repro). Original back panel missing. The Drake 784-139 output transformer was rewound on the original chassis by vintage transformer guru Stefano Bianchini (SB-Lab) in Modena. With a super meticulous and highly professional job, he rewound it to the exact original specifications, maintaining its original codes, shell and chassis !!!

This beautiful plexi sounds phenomenal and runs like a top ! It’s ready for years of faithful service.
In a different listing, I’m also offering the original 1971 Marshall model 1960b cabinet which is also in incredible cosmetic condition (please see photo #1). It features all four original G12M (T1221) Greenback Celestion speakers with matching 29 March 1971 date codes and original 5__102_003 Pulsonic cones. Steel handles, original and riveted.
This listing is for the Tremolo 50 head only.
Photos are an integral part of the description. Take your time to look at them, because they speak better than any words. I got more than 40 HD photos; every single detail has been captured. Do not hesitate to contact me, I’ll be happy to show you all of them !
The expensive shipping cost is mainly due to the weight and high insurance costs. Direct collection is clearly preferable but I am also willing to personally transport the instrument to major European cities. Just give me a call or contact me and we can work on it.
