1969 Gibson Les Paul Professional, serial number 916571, an uncommon and technically advanced guitar from the late '60s. Developed by Gibson as a studio-oriented instrument, it features design choices aimed at delivering extreme tonal clarity and versatility for professional players.
Solid mahogany body with flat mahogany top in original Walnut finish, cream binding on body, neck, and headstock. Mahogany neck with a rounded late-’60s profile, dark rosewood fingerboard with 22 frets and pearloid trapezoid inlays. Headstock with gold Gibson logo and "Les Paul Professional" truss rod cover. Original Gibson-branded chrome tuners.
The highlight of this model is its unique electronics: two factory-installed low impedance single coil pickups with black staple-style covers, a 3-way toggle switch, plus tone, volume, phase switch, and tone selector controls. Designed by Bill Lawrence, these pickups offer pristine clarity and detailed articulation, making this guitar ideal for studio use and high-fidelity applications.
Original hardware throughout including a Tune-O-Matic bridge, stopbar tailpiece, and custom multi-control plate. It weighs 4.925 kg, providing excellent sustain and a full-bodied presence.
Includes the rare original white Gibson hardshell case with deep red quilted lining, and the original low-Z cable for connection to mixer or preamp units.
