Soviet 6N6P Red Tip radio tubes were intended for military, space, and special-purpose equipment.

The main differences between military and civilian tubes are:

Special purpose. First and foremost, the red tips on the tubes indicate that they were designed for specific purposes.

Strict selection and acceptance. These tubes underwent the strictest military acceptance (VA) with a diamond-shaped stamp on the housing. Before packaging, they were subjected to rigorous testing (a technological run-in).

Design changes. The use of gold or platinum sputtering on the grids (to suppress thermionic emission), thicker mica for electrode fixation, rigid anodes, and vibration-resistant filaments.

It was precisely these lamps, which had the highest quality category, that were used by the Soviet Union in aviation, space, and missile forces during the Cold War.

Tubes of this model are becoming more popular as more amplifier brands use them for their rich tone with high gain, comparable to the ECC99 or E182CC.

The 6N6P tubes is designed for voltage amplification and operation in preamplifier and power amplifier stages of audio frequency (AF) amplifiers, as well as in pulse circuits.Works in any position.
