Vintage 1974 Gibson SG Harmonica Bridge – Complete w/ Posts & Bushings - SG / L6-S / Marauder / S-1

This is the real 1970s wide-travel Tune-O-Matic bridge used during Gibson’s Norlin era, complete with posts and bushings. Fully functional, but with visible road wear, aging, marks, and honest cosmetic wear from decades of use. Not shiny reissue hardware. Not fake relic. Just an original 50-year-old Gibson part that has actually lived on a guitar.

The Harmonica bridge is strongly associated with 1970s Gibson SG models, including the SG Standard, SG Custom, and SG Special. It was designed with extra saddle travel, giving more room for accurate intonation, especially with the lighter string gauges that were becoming popular with rock players in the early 1970s.

Beyond the SG world, this bridge was also used across several Gibson models from the same era, including the Les Paul Recording, Les Paul Signature, ES-325TD, L5S, L6-S, Marauder, and S-1. It is one of those very specific pieces of 70s Gibson hardware: slightly strange, very recognizable, and impossible to confuse with a modern Nashville or ABR-1 bridge.

This bridge also sits in the same Gibson family tree as several artist-linked Norlin-era instruments. The L6-S line was associated with players such as Carlos Santana, Al Di Meola, Keith Richards, Paul Stanley, Dave Davies, Prince, and Pat Martino, while Paul Stanley’s Gibson Midnight Special used the same Schaller wide-travel Tune-O-Matic, commonly known as the Harmonica bridge.

A correct original part for a proper 1970s Gibson restoration, especially for an SG from this period. Functional, complete, naturally aged, and carrying exactly the kind of wear a vintage Gibson part should have. Old metal, real history, no cosplay.
