UPDATE: I will likely part this guitar out and list the pieces here. If it doesn't sell within the next few days, keep an eye out for the neck, body, neck plate, and pickguard listed separately, and all the hardware in one lot.

I purchased this guitar on Reverb as a complete instrument three years ago (the first pic is from that sale, of the original assembled guitar--second pic is as guitar is now). I found out the body was not correct, so I bought an early pre-CBS Jaguar body with original shielding and had it finished in Lake Placid blue to match the headstock (literally sent the neck in the box so they could match it). I told the painter to relic it a bit to match the neck, and my plan was to relic it a bit further. This body had a bad white refin when I bought it, but bears traces of Lake Placid Blue. Maybe it was originally blue? Can't say for sure, but could be. I also purchased an original white Jaguar pickguard which the seller claimed was from a December 1964 custom color Jag (I am also including the yellowed repro guard that was originally installed). Guitar is currently disassembled, but all parts are of high-quality and in good shape. Pickups, control plates and electronics are all newer Fender parts. Pickups are Fender AVRI, and the bridge is a Fender Johnny Marr. Neck plate is a genuine vintage Fender L plate from 1963 (I am also including the repro neck plate that was on the guitar). Neck has no date stamp, but bears all the hallmarks of being a genuine pre-CBS Jaguar neck. Some fret wear. Headstock appears to have what could be a repaired crack, but it’s hard to tell, as it’s nearly invisible, and the previous seller did not mention it at all. Regardless, it is solid and completely stable. Seller told me the finish on the headstock was original, but it may have been refinished along with the crack repair long ago. If it is a refin, it’s ancient and totally looks the part. Perfectly aged decal and paint. I have been told the tuners are not original. Truss rod nut moves smoothly in both directions, so I’m assuming the truss rod works. I am not a vintage Fender expert. Please look closely at the photos.

As with all of my items, I'm serious about selling it, so if you're interested, make me an offer. I have ~$4500 invested in it, and my asking price is far lower. I had intended to build it up with genuine vintage switch plates, etc., and some great pickups, but I found a complete vintage Jag for sale locally at a great price and it is serving my Jaguar needs at present, so I'm putting this project up for sale. One great thing about this project is you get a genuine Lake Placid Blue pre-CBS Jaguar that you can modify as you wish (hotter pickups, etc.).
