The construction draws directly from the upright tradition: a highly pliable round steel core is wrapped with a silk inlay, then finished with a true ribbon flatwound outer winding in a special nickel alloy. The silk inlay increases flexibility and gently damps excessive overtones, while the round core lets the string vibrate freely with no preferred motion axis.
