About this listing
One of the best guitars I have played. If you want know what the vintage guitar fuss is about then this is it. Incredibly resonant body and really full sweet sounding original mini-humbuckers. The middle and bridge positions just ring out like a bell. The cherry red has been nicely faded. Only reason I am selling it is because I got a 335.This guitar comes with a nice set of upgrades, which personally, I think makes it better than a stock vintage Riviera:- A stop tailpiece has been added instead of the Frequensator tailpiece. This is definitely an upgrade. You can easily adjust the tension and is easier for note-bending as compared to the Frequensator. There are couple of holes in the body where the Frequensator was.- The tuners likely have been changed. Again, I think this is an upgrade compared to the button tuners.- Frets have been replaced recently at SF GuitarWorks, again saves you about 600$ from an eventual fret job.- Little bit of checking on both front and back as well the neck. Please check photos.Everything else is all original. These Gibson-made Rivieras are often overlooked and offer the best bang for the buck. Comes with a case.Body size at lower bout: 16". Scale length: 24 3/4" Nut Width: 1 9/16". Even thought it has a smaller nut-width, in combination with the neck size it feels super comfortableMaterials: Solid Honduras mahogany neck; arched maple top back, and sides; solid Brazilian rosewood fingerboard.
