The M3 camera-mount shotgun mic from Zoom is the best way to get portable, light-weight, 32-bit float recordings that can record directly into the camera, into the M3 itself, or both. While a shotgun mic is typically a mono signal, Zoom's M3 goes one step further and offers stereo recording—plus, it always records a backup mid/side file for adjusting the stereo field in post. Speaking of post, the Zoom M3 companion software lets you prepare the audio files before downloading them off the device. Take it off the camera for precise recording or use it as an audio device for your computer and mobile device for great sounding video calls and streaming. Zoom's M3 shotgun mic is great on or off the camera for customizable stereo, mono, and mid/side recording. 2-bit Floating point point on-camera shotgun recorder Simultaneous on-recorder and on-camera recording for effortless syncing Backup mid/side audio file always recorded for stereo field editing Mono and stereo recording Low cut filter Companion Edit & Play software to adjust stereo width and normalize recorded files USB Audio device functionality 3.5mm Headphone and line out connections Mid mic polar pattern: supercardioid Side mic polar pattern: bidirectional Analog outputs: 1x TRS stereo 3.5mm, 1x 3.5mm headphones Recording format: 48kHz, 32-bit float WAV USB: Type-C Power: 2x AA batteries, ZOOM AD-17 AC Adapter, or USB bus power Dimensions: 71.6 x 201.3 x 38mm Weight: 135g (batteries included)MPN: ZM3
