The Roland A-49 combines a premium-feeling, full-size keyboard with an exceptionally lightweight and streamlined design. With 49 velocity-sensitive keys, intuitive performance controls, USB bus power, and traditional 5-pin MIDI output, the A-49 is an excellent controller for computer-based production, hardware synth setups, and portable music-making.
At just 5 lb. 9 oz., the A-49 is remarkably easy to transport while still providing 49 full-size keys. Roland designed the keyboard with rounded key shapes for a comfortable playing feel and smooth glissandos, along with a refined mechanism that minimizes mechanical noise and unwanted vertical movement.
Expressive Roland Control
The A-49 keeps its control surface clean and straightforward while providing plenty of hands-on expression. Two assignable knobs and two assignable switches provide convenient control over MIDI parameters, while Roland's unique D-BEAM controller lets you manipulate sounds and effects simply by moving your hand above the sensor.
A dedicated pitch bend/modulation lever provides expressive performance control, while Octave and Transpose buttons make it easy to change the keyboard range or key. Additional settings can be accessed using the Function button and the clearly labeled functions above the keys.
USB and 5-Pin MIDI Connectivity
Connect the A-49 to your computer via USB for MIDI communication and bus power, with no separate AC adapter required for normal computer-based operation. A standard 5-pin MIDI OUT also makes the A-49 a great choice for controlling hardware synthesizers, sound modules, grooveboxes, and other MIDI-equipped instruments.
Dedicated Hold and Expression pedal inputs provide additional performance flexibility for piano-style playing and real-time control.
Lightweight and Portable
