About this listing
Up for sale, a 1988 Epiphone Casino in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Produced in Japan at the Terada factory, this is an early Epiphone reissue which preceded the "Elitist" line, sporting a gloss Natural finish on the thinline maple body and a pair of dogear P-90 pickups.Weighing 6lbs 7oz, this Casino’s fully-hollow body has a smooth, bright tone with great articulation, qualities captured accurately by the P-90 pickups. Wound to vintage spec with plenty of midrange bark, these pickups have a glassy, percussive quality, with a refinement beyond most modern Casino reissues. Sensitive to picking dynamics with an overarching sweetness and sparkling cut, they’re equally suited to detailed cleans and rich overdrive. This Casino has been professionally set up here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.Neck Specs:Wood: Maple (three-piece)Shape: Very slender C, measuring .760” 1st fret, .885” 12th fretFretboard: Rosewood, parallelogram inlayFrets: Medium jumbo, no wearScale Length: 24 3/4”Nut: 1 9/16”, boneTuners: Kluson-style, GotohBody Specs:Wood: MaplePickups: P-90 x2Controls: Volume x2, Tone x2, three-way pickup selectorHardware: ABR-1 bridge, trapeze tailpiece, dogear pickup coversPlastics: Three-ply pickguard with “E” Epsilon logo, gold reflector cap knobsSerialization: Orange oval label dates to 1988The gloss Natural finish highlights light birdseye figuring in the maple top and back, with faint buckle scuffing central to the back and one tiny ding on the lower bout perimeter.
