Up for sale Federal AM-864/U, rewired for 230V operation (no problem to restore it to 110V). The unit has been recapped with high quality capacitors, but only where original capacitors were found open or extremely out of specs.
The rear trimpots (Threshold and Ratio) have been placed onto an external custom panel to allow easy access for tweaking.
The custom panel also hosts a -18dB Input pad switch (the unit has a HUGE amplification by itself and it didn’t work well with most of the studio’s signal. With the pad engaged it works great!) It also hosts some Attack and Release times, selectable via rotary switches (original release time was about 2s, pretty useless for studio applications).
VU Metering can monitor Gain reduction, Output, or defeat.
Every mod is easy reversible to stock.
