Here is your chance to snag a very nice Yamaha FG-180, one of the best currently for sale.

This version is an early 70’s piece that was made in Japan by Kasuga Gakki for Yamaha.

As luthiers and restorers we are used to dealing with FG-180’s every week, this is a special piece for the following reasons:

- rare logo only generally used for Japanese domestic market

- bridge not been thinned down (shaved/planed) which is uncommon to see on these, so there are still options to easily reduce the action in the future (we left this original)

- nice original Yamaha case is present, again not common to see outside of Japan

This piece has been well cared for and there are much less signs of use than you would expect to see on a guitar that is 54 years old!

For a player there are no issues with this guitar, they are nearly always heavily relic'd

If you are looking for another one of these it will not play this well, they never do without extensive setup work.

The current action is set medium and plays really well

Saddle is low yet as mentioned there is adjustment room via re-working the bridge itself.

Truss rod not seized and adjusts either way as it should

All hardware appears original.

The tone is confident, bassy, and the mojo is there!

Action is currently circa 3.5 and 3 mm at 12th, feels good and low at the lower positions.

We have fully overhauled and serviced the guitar, its ready to play, and if required we will make any further adjustments at no charge
