The Keeley Java Boost is designed to be used in front of amps already on the verge of breakup or hitting high-gain saturation. It is NOT a stand-alone overdrive pedal, but rather a treble booster based on those from the '60s and '70s (i.e. Dallas Rangemaster and its brethren).
