Boss OD-1 Over Drive (Black Label) 1980-81 - serial #0500 - JRC4558D
Legendary Boss OD-1 Overdrive, first edition, serial number #0500. It's believed to be from 1980/81. The PCB is stamped with 052-281D, making it the fourth version. It uses a JRC4558D chip.
The pedal works properly, but, as you can see from the photos, it shows signs of age. It has non-original knobs and is missing the power adapter, so it only runs on batteries. A technician can easily fix this issue. Additionally, there are a couple of holes on the bottom that were used in the past for a rudimentary pedalboard attachment.
The sound, however, is its own!
