Gibson SJ-200 Antique Natural 2003 with caseSummary: Oh my days, all I can say is wow! Here we have the king of the flat tops, the legendary SJ-200. This example is from 2003 and has aged in beautifully (in our personal opinion) the guitar is covered in lacquer checking, has bags of mojo and is a true joy to play. Comes with the original hard case. READ THIS:Guitar Mania is a high street SHOP, established in 1994, dead easy to find. Model: SJ-200 StandardYear built: 2003Hard case or Gig Bag? - Comes with original hard caseBody Condition: 6/10The body of the guitar is in good condition for a 23 year old instrument that has been someones main guitar for many years. This does mean it is covered in various dings, scratches, bumps and nicks. These are all purely cosmetic. Nothing has broken through the wood or caused any splinters. The body back and front is covered in lacquer cracks, you have to play extra for this from Murphy lab! This is genuinely done over time. The back of the body does have some lacquer damage from being put on a dodgy stand at some point, yet again purely cosmetic. Neck: 7/10 A nice comfortable profile neck, not too thick and not too thin. The Rosewood board is in good shape and shows light aging. The frets are also in good shape with play wear and the odd dimples two on the cowboy frets. The back of the neck does exhibit a few scuffs and dings that you can feel when playing the guitar, however they are purely cosmetic and don't affect the playability of the guitar. Like the body the back of the neck is covered in lacquer cracking. No breaks to the headstock, a couple of bumps in the top of the headstock. Hardware: 9/10The machineheads are original and in excellent working order, some light signs of tarnish. All stock and in fine working order.Electrics: N/APlayability:This guitar has been lovingly set up by Jon, one of the UK's most highly regarded and experienced guitar techs. That doesn't mean this guitar is the best playing guitar ever, it just means that he has taken the time to set it up. Adjust the action, intonation etc so that it plays as well as can be expected and stays in tune as good as any guitar of this type does. We all have differing styles and demands from our instruments. Some of us like fast n low actions for fretboard burning licks, others prefer a high n mightly action for show stopping windmills and downtuned heavy riffing and everything in between.
