The Virus Rack XL is the ultra rare 1U rackmount counterpart to the Virus C synthesizer line. It was produced for only a short period before discontinuation and appears far less frequently on the market than desktop or keyboard Virus models.

The Virus C generation is widely regarded for its classic Virus sound: thick virtual-analog oscillators, dual multimode resonant filters with up to 6-pole operation, 32-voice polyphony, 16-part multitimbrality, integrated vocoder, and a huge effects section — all in a compact 1U rack format fully controllable over MIDI.

This is not the desktop unit — the Rack XL is the dedicated 1U rack version with full MIDI implementation and 3 stereo outputs for multitimbral routing.
