Focusrite Focusrite Blue 300 Mastering Controller, *with MULTICORES*

Up for grabs at a special price is a rare Focusrite Blue 300 Mastering Controller & Summing Unit, from the series of the unparalleled 330 Mastering Compressor / Limiter and 315 Mastering EQ. It consists of a remote unit and a 19" main unit which holds all the analog components, a headphone amp and a level meter.

The remote lets you control all ins and outs, set levels for the individual inputs (for the recording path), switch inserts in and out, and apply monitoring functions such as L+R (mono / mid signal) L-R (side signal), invert L phase, cut L/R and swap L/R. "SUM" enables the 330's summing function, in which it acts as a summing mixer of all inputs, which are put into the recording path. "LOCK" locks the current input into the rec path. You can set inputs for rec / monitor path independently.

Level control pot on remote has been cleaned. It occasionally caused issues with transmitting the correct (digital) value. Just stating this in case the issue ever returns.

EDAC multicores: These are custom-made for the previous owner's workflow and do NOT feature connections for every function of the unit! I've so far identified outs for 2 monitor pairs, 3 stereo ins, rec out, insert loops. There are more connectors whose function I haven't checked. If you want to take full advantage of the unit, you might wish to get custom multicores.

Technical condition: Internal fan disconnected. Can (and should) only be reconnected by professional service. Without the fan operating, the unit gets hot, so it is not safe to use it for long stretches of time as is. Remote, headphone amp and relays work. Every switch responds, relay-bound switches move the relays audibly. I have not tested every dial and in/out path due to EDAC limitations. Removed from a working environment.

Cosmetics: remote is in excellent condition, 19" unit has marks from use and rackmounting and some wear on rack ears. Overall pleasant state.
