A real eye-catcher: the handcrafted custom snare drum from SSS Solid Shell Shop, an up-and-coming shell builder from California. The 14x5 3/4" solid shell is finished with clear lacquer and a rounded bearing edge. The 3/8" wall thickness shines in a bright turquoise with the unique wood grain typical of SSS.
The shell features black nickel-plated lugs, a chrome-colored butt end, strainer, and air vent, which perfectly accentuate the vibrant turquoise of this unique shell. The black nickel-plated hoops, held by chrome-colored claws and tension rods, complete this one-of-a-kind snare drum.
Expect a deep, fat, punchy, warm, and natural bass tone. The horizontal grain creates an interesting resonance with subtle reverberation and overtones. The snare can be tuned low without compromising rebound, for a powerful attack and punchy rimshots.
All hardware, including the shell, is new and unused. The snare drum comes with Remo Encore heads that were only used to test the shell.
