A 2005 Good Sound Historic Les Paul Goldtop has arrived!
This 2005 model features relatively understated specifications, even within the long-running Historic Series.
It retains the original specifications from that era, including an aluminum tailpiece and an unmarked ABR-1 bridge.
It also captures historically accurate details, such as the slightly raised truss rod cover and the tortoiseshell side position markers.
True to its Custom Shop origins—where the finest woods are selected for each era—the sound it produces is rich and woody. The response, especially when played in the bridge position, is quintessentially Les Paul, offering a truly responsive playing experience.
Picking near the bridge produces pleasant high frequencies, while cutting near the neck yields soft chord work. The ability to play it as if an acoustic guitar had been transformed into an electric is one of the unique joys of a Les Paul.
The guitar shows general signs of use, but there is no major damage that exposes the wood.
The truss rod is fully functional.
Approximately 70% of the frets remain.
A Goldtop with a rich, dark back and great tone.
With a sound that embodies the very essence of the Les Paul, this is a guitar capable of handling not only rock but a wide variety of genres.
