Vintage & Rare Siemens 1208 8 Channel Console w/ Direct Outs

Vintage and rare 8-channel Siemens 1208 / WSW portable console with beautiful sounding robust mic preamps and Inductor EQs. All discrete transformers in/out on all channels and masters. Direct outs on each channel (via DB25 installed in chassis) added by Brent Bishop (Gillian Welch and David Rawling’s in-house tech at Woodland Studios in Nashville, TN). Point to point wiring and awesome WSW transformers throughout. Built-in ELAC speakers.

Comes in Epoxy resin hard case, though the hardshell cover is missing.

Includes power supply.

On each channel:

- mic impedance selector (switch between Li, MiH, MiL) 

- gain (with a signal generator on each channel) 

- panorama

- monitor volume 

- 3 band inductor EQ (lo (60 Hz) and hi (12 kHz) shelves, mid sweepable (stepped from 700 Hz - 5,6 kHz), all stepped from -12 dB to 12 dB

- lo-cut (selectable 30 or 100 Hz)

- fader

In great working shape!  The unit is over 50 years old and so like with all vintage audio gear, this is sold as-is and will require service going forward.  Plug it in – all pre and EQ work as intended.  Definitely 50 years + of wear and tear on the faceplate (see pictures.)  

The right side VU meter bulb doesn’t light up.

Also included is one custom cable built by Trew Audio to pull the stereo master program from outputs I/II or A/B to terminate on two three-pin XLRs.
