About this listing
Very good condition 1920 Martin 0-18K. 1 of only 60 0-18K’s made in 1920. This a beautifully open sounding example of a very rare model offered by Martin for a a short amount of time in a tone wood you do not see often. While the original case has seen better days, the guitar itself plays beautifully all the way up the neck. Fresh off a bridge reglue from Music City Vintage Guitars in Nashville, the action is low and really feels great to play. This example has a very clean Brazilian rosewood bridge replacement, but retains the original bridge plate maintaining the original tone of the guitar. These 0-18K and 0-28K are usually strung to be played as a slide guitar, but this example has been professionally setup with extra light gauge strings, and they fit this guitar nicely. Very light, with a perfect resonant body. There doesn’t look to be much structural damage to speak on, and all the braces are clean and don't appear to be loose. One bridge pin appears to be replaced. Frets have plenty of life left. No heel damage. One of the tuner buttons has deteriorated a bit, but it still turns perfectly fine and does not affect the ability to tune. The finish on this example appears to be a mix of the original finish and some professional overspray work. It’s checked and shows a significant amount of age, which suits this example nicely. The Martin Nazareth stamp has been removed partially, most likely from finish work, but is able to be clearly seen with a black light. Comes with the pictured hard shell case. Willing to ship or drive a reasonable distance. Always open to offers!
