Hand-crafted, "The Stereo Flamingo" is both viusally eye-catching and sonically impressive. From its quirky deco look to the modern styled VD26 capsules floating inside the dual rotating head assemblies, this near coincident stereo mic will add a whole new soundstage to your recordings.

Born of Violet Design's deep experience in vintage and classic microphone repair, "The Stereo Flamingo" combines highly desirable modern acoustic characteristics with a broad response FET electronics circuit. The result is a punchy, detailed sound with an airy top-end, a smooth presence boost between 1.5kHz + 4kHz and a slightly accented low-end response below 70 kHz.

Your drum kit and piano never had it so good!

The Stereo Flamingo is based on Violet Design's original true electrostatic capsules. Each of "The Stereo Flamingo" head assemblies uses a single VD26 large diaphragm condenser capsule (25mm) made of the highest quality 6-micron Mylar film tensioned over a precisely made brass backplate and sputtered with Violet's secret formula gold mixture. The result is faster impulse transient response without unintended sound coloration, low frequency reduction and the ability to handle louder sound pressure levels. Each capsule is carefully checked and measured in an anechoic chamber for guaranteed optimum performance.

Phantom powered (true 48v +/- 4v required), linear, class-A discrete solid state transformerless preamplifier electronics yield ultra-low self-noise and virtually no distortion. The circuit is designed to achieve the highest audio standards and provides flat frequency response and exceptional dynamic range. Symmetric output with XLR-3 type gold plated contacts provides balanced low impedance output and a stable connection.

The wide cardioid (Unidirectional) polar pattern is both forgiving but still very effective at reducing unwanted ambient noise. The microphone's multilayer brass mesh head grills minimizes internal resonance effects while leaving high frequencies and overall transparency unaffected.

Rugged body construction and two internal shockmounts for each the capsule and the electronics (per head assembly) effectively reduce stand rumble, outside infrasonic interference and mechanical shocks. The integrated spider suspension to additionally isolate the microphone from more severe mechanical influences
