Daion from Japan made some truly outstanding acoustic guitars in the 80s—solidly built, distinctive, and ahead of their time in design. The ’81 Gazelle from Daion’s Year Series sat at the top of the range when it was released, featuring a solid spruce top, beautifully figured rosewood arched back and sides, and a rosewood fingerboard on a mahogany neck—all double bound for a refined finish.

It has a striking lower bout curve and an oval soundhole, giving it a very cool retro-futuristic aesthetic. The craftsmanship is excellent throughout, and it delivers a bright, articulate acoustic tone that translates effectively through its onboard electronics, using a transducer under the brass bridge paired with volume and tone sliders.

A standout vintage piece for collectors and players alike.

Condition: fully original and excellent overall, with more noticeable wear on the fingerboard.
Included: original case
