This is a custom made sitar by master instrument builder Mohammad Waseem (mwsitar dot com).
The top of the sitar is made of high quality teak wood that has been aging for over 100 years! The wood stock is a family secret and is one of the key factors in the quality of a sitar.
It has a piezo-electric pickup inside with a guitar-cable input allowing for amplification.
Custom design includes the Tibetan lions on the body and the HRIH syllable on the head stock.
The instrument has been played and tuned regularly since I got it about 2 years ago. I have some extra strings and if you're new to sitar, I can give you advice and help if you're interested. Message me with any questions!
