1987 Fender Japan ST-563K Contemporary Stratocaster – Factory Kahler 2520 – E-Series – Black

Rare 1987 Fender Japan ST-563K Contemporary Stratocaster in Black, made during the highly regarded E-Series / FujiGen era.

This model features the factory-installed Kahler 2520 Traditional Fulcrum tremolo, a much less common configuration than the standard Fender tremolo systems of the period.

The guitar is in very good condition for its age and remains largely original. I also documented the guitar internally, including the neck stamp, neck pocket and electronics, so the model and originality can be clearly verified.

The Kahler system has been carefully cleaned, serviced and set up. One original-style replacement saddle was fitted to complete the bridge. All important original components are present.

The guitar plays well, electronics work correctly and the truss rod is functional. The frets show normal age-related wear but are still playable.

Cosmetically, the guitar shows the expected signs of use from an instrument of this age: light scratches, small marks and hardware wear. Please see the photos for the exact condition.

The ST-563K is an uncommon Fender Japan model, especially in Black with the factory Kahler 2520 and original SSS configuration. A great example of Fender Japan’s more experimental and technically advanced mid/late-1980s period.
