MPX8 packs the sounds you need under great-feeling pads inside a solid Akai Pro design. You get quick and convenient one-touch access to a virtually unlimited number of sounds, shots, stabs, and drops.
Features
USB Port : Connect the included USB cable to a computer or the included USB power adapter, then plug the adapter into a power outlet.
Power Switch : Turns the MPX8 on and off. Requires a USB power connection.
SD Card Slot : Accepts a standard SD card containing samples. Use the MPX8 Editor to load samples or ensure manually loaded samples are properly formatted.
Main Out : 1/4" (6.35 mm) TS outputs for connecting to speakers or an amplifier. Use the left (L) output only for mono sound.
Headphone Out : 1/8" (3.5 mm) stereo headphone output with adjustable volume.
Display : Shows current parameters and operating information.
Data Dial : Increases or decreases the selected parameter value.
Select +/– Buttons : Scroll through available parameters shown on the display.
Volume +/– Buttons : Adjust the output volume for Main Out and Headphone Out. Press both simultaneously to stop all currently playing samples.
Pads
Velocity-sensitive and pressure-sensitive for responsive sample triggering.
Supports samples from an inserted SD card.
LED Status Indicators
Off : No sample assigned.
Orange : Sample assigned.
Green : Sample currently playing.
Red : Pad currently being edited.
Pressure sensitivity sends polyphonic aftertouch messages via MIDI Out only and does not affect sample playback.
MIDI In : Connects to an external MIDI device's MIDI Out using the included 1/8"-to-MIDI cable. Receives MIDI Note On messages on Channel 10.
MIDI Out : Connects to an external MIDI device's MIDI In using the included 1/8"-to-MIDI cable. Sends MIDI Note On and polyphonic aftertouch messages.
Kensington Lock Slot : Compatible with Kensington security cables for theft protection.
