The BK4 was Carvin's kit bass model. It allowed players to build their own instrument in a very easy way just by following some simple instructions and putting together all the parts. The result was a great sounding bass that was also affordable and gave players the opportunity to choose their own custom finish. This BK4 is finished in clear lacquer over a swamp ash body and sports a beautiful piece of ebony for the fingerboard (maple neck). Two Carvin J99 noiseless Single Coil pickups are wired in the good old passive way (Vol/Vol/Tone). The bridge is a Hipshot unit and tuners are Goth. There's also a graphite nut and two way truss rod. Amazing price for a really great sounding and easy to play made in the US Bass.
This bass weighs in at just 3.35kg. Really lightweight plus it plays and sounds great. Amazing value for money,
