Here for sale we have a Gibson Memphis ES Les Paul Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar in Natural finish. Made in the USA in 2016, this guitar consists of a Maple/Poplar/Maple body, a Flamed Maple top, a Mahogany neck, and a 22-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include upgraded Kluson locking tuners, an ABR-1 bridge and Stopbar tailpiece. A pair of ‘Memphis Historic Spec humbucker pickups are fitted. These are wired to a 3-way pickup selector and independent volume and tone controls.The Mahogany neck plays very well, with a profile that is on the feels on the thinner side of most Gibson guitars. This slender neck with shallow shoulders offers a responsive and articulate playing experience well suited to lead players. The traditional 12" fingerboard radius strikes the perfect balance between comfortable chord playing and smooth lead lines, making for a truly authentic yet refined Les Paul playing experience. The semi-hollow construction provides an open airiness to the sound which makes the instrument suitable for a wide range of genres whilst retaining a unique and unmistakable voice. The ‘Memphis Historic Spec’ humbuckers deliver a thick and powerful tone, with smooth rounded lows, clear and open mid range and a sweet treble response that captures the attack and aggression of your playing. The pots feel nicely responsive, allowing you to dial in your perfect tone with ease, whilst the simplicity of the controls ensure that you can stay focussed on your playing whilst still offering comprehensive control of your tone. The front face demonstrates light scratching visible under direct lighting at certain angles.Neck: Overall excellent condition, the cherry stain to the rear of the neck has faded to a more mahogany like colour. The typical bleeding of the stain onto the binding is apparent. It is difficult to discern any markings to the neck and fingerboard.Body: Overall very good condition, the rear face demonstrates a moderate indentation piercing the finish to the lower bout. Further significantly lighter indentation is apparent to the rear face visible only under direct lighting at certain angles. Slight finish cracking is apparent between the heel and the top of the rear face - this is due to differing expansion rates of the woods used and is not of structural concern. Some slight stain bleeding is also apparent here, similar to the binding on the neck.Condition of Frets:The frets demonstrate very light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for future fret work.Current Set Up:Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (5/16" socket) not included.Hardware: Fully functional with very light signs of use, most notably some scratching on the stop bar from previous top-wrapping. The tuners have been replaced for kluson locking tuners, originals not included. The strap studs have been replaced for locking studs, the strap side of the locking component is not included. The previous owner has treated the exterior tolex with a leather conditioner. We have worked to remove this however a slight slick texture is apparent to the exterior of the case only.
