About this listing
Serial Number: 26061501113The Gibson Hummingbird™ was first introduced in 1960 and was the first square shoulder acoustic guitar model in the Gibson catalog. It arrived at the dawn of a new era in music and has been seen in the hands of many players since then, including Keith Richards and Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones, Eric Church, J Mascis, Joe Bonamassa, Gillian Welch, Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead, Steve Wariner, Dan Auerbach, and many more. Much of the Hummingbird’s appeal lies in its versatility. No matter how you attack this flat-top, whether softly fingerpicking, strumming it hard, or ripping single-note solos, it pumps out beautiful tones, making it an ideal choice, no matter what musical genres you’re into. Now, Epiphone, in collaboration with Gibson Custom, is proud to introduce the 1960 Hummingbird Reissue, an Inspired by Gibson Custom recreation of those iconic first-year Hummingbirds. This gorgeous acoustic guitar has a thermally aged solid spruce top that is reinforced with traditional scalloped X-bracing made from quarter-sawn, solid spruce. The back and sides of the 1960 Hummingbird Reissue are made from solid mahogany. It delivers a warm, rich tone overall that works extraordinarily well in a wide range of musical styles. The one-piece, thermally-aged, 24.75” scale mahogany neck has a Rounded profile that is capped with a bound rosewood fretboard that is outfitted with 20 standard frets and adorned with mother-of-pearl split parallelogram inlays.
The 1960 Hummingbird features all of the ornamentation that makes the vintage originals instantly recognizable. The body features multi-ply top and back binding. The belly up rosewood bridge plate is equipped with a compensated bone saddle, and the nut and bridge pins are also bone. The pickguard features the legendary Hummingbird shape and engraved artwork design. On the headstock, gold-plated Epiphone Deluxe tuners with green Keystone buttons help ensure solid tuning stability so you can spend more time playing and less time looking at an electronic tuner. The headstock features a two-ply black and white truss rod cover, and the Epiphone logo and Gibson Crown are inlaid in aged mother-of-pearl. The headstock features a Gibson-style “open book” profile with the Inspired by Gibson Custom double diamond logo etched on the rear.
To ensure it meets the live performance and recording needs of today’s players, the 1960 Hummingbird Reissue comes equipped with a built-in Baggs™ Element Bronze VTC preamp and under-saddle piezo pickup system, so it’s stage and studio-ready whenever you are. A Red Line-inspired hardshell case, which features the Inspired by Gibson Custom logo on the exterior, is also included to keep this beautiful acoustic guitar safe when you’re traveling to your next performance.SpecificationsSaddle Material: Compensated BoneBridge Pins: BonePreamp: Baggs Element Bronze VTCBack: Solid MahoganyStrings Gauge: .012, .016, .024, .032, .042, .053Headstock Inlay: Epiphone Logo and Gibson Crown in Aged Mother-of-PearlHeadstock: Gibson Open Book with Inspired by Gibson Custom Logo on RearModel:: ECHBR0HSGH1Case: Red Line-inspired Hardshell with Inspired by Gibson Custom GraphicsTuning Machines: Epiphone Deluxe with Green Keystone ButtonTuner Plating: GoldTruss Rod Cover: 2-Ply Bell; Wide WhiteTruss Rod: Dual ActionStrap Buttons: Endpin JackPickguard: Classic Hummingbird; Yellow Single Color EngravingBridge: Traditional Belly Up; RosewoodOutput Jack: 1/4" EndpinControls: Soundhole-mounted Volume and ToneScale Length: 628.65mm / 24.75inProfile: RoundedNut Width: 44.2mm / 1.74inNut Material: BoneNeck Material: One-Piece Mahogany; Thermally AgedJoint: DovetailInlays: Mother-of-Pearl Split ParallelogramFrets: StandardFret Count: 20Fingerboard Radius: 304.8mm / 12.0inFingerboard Material: Indian RosewoodTop: Thermally Aged Solid SpruceBody Styles: Square ShoulderBody Shape: HummingbirdBody Material: Solid MahoganyBody Finish: Vintage Gloss
