General introduction and background:

Very cool thinline guitar – Sakai “Barney Kessel” style, made in the early 1970s in Japan. Many Japanese manufacturers copied the spikey horn- double cut thinline design. The guitar plays well and comfortable, with a low string action, and is completely restored and setup to be played immediately.

As always, the instrument has been serviced completely and is ready to be played immediately. But please read the description carefully!

Measurements, weight and other specs:

-Scale:  628 mm

-Nut: ca 4,15 cm

-Weight: 2,78 kg

-Pickups: two singlecoils, measuring about 5,5k each. 3 way toggleswitch, master volume and master tone

-Body: completely hollow, laminated back and sides.

-Neck:  soft V or wide D-shape, slim, multiple maple stripes, with a fingerboard of rosewood, slim frets, probably 9-12’’ radius.

Condition:

-Body: almost no signs except one bigger “dong” on the bout, which apparently has been glued by a previous owner (see pic)

-Neck: good condition, trussrod works smoothly. Frets at 8/10, minor to no buzz. No deadspots.

-Head: good condition; the tuner bars cover the holes of the original tuners.

-Hardware: signs of aging, but in fairly good condition.

-Electrics: works

-Originality: non original tuners; pickguard is missing.

Sound and Playability:

-Playability and string action: it has a very low string action and is easy to play.

-Sound: Please check out the video for a sound demo. A spanky, dry tone that is ideal for funk and rhythm chime.

Repairs, Service:

As always, the instrument has been serviced completely and is ready to be played immediately.

-Completely cleaned

-Frets polished, fretboard cleaned and oiled

-Electronics cleaned and serviced

-New tuners installed

-Neck set straight

-Pro setup of neck, string action, pickup height and intonation

-New 10 gauge all nickel Pyramid strings put on – play it in!

Auxiliary stuff:

-No case or gigbag included at this price level. The item will be wrapped well, and put into a sturdy cardboard box with lots of filler material. If you need a case, a 4/4 classical guitar case will fit well. I can buy one at your cost for the shipping, just let me know.

AFTER DELIVERY: After receiving the item, please inspect the package for obvious damages and make photos if there are any. After unpacking, check the item immediately for damages or other undocumented flaws. I accept a 14 days return and will pay for shipping if the item is in a different condition than described upon arrival. Please note that I will only take the item back entirely, but not grant any reduction of price and generally only accept returns if the item was unaltered after arrival.
