CDR-W laser recorder. It works perfectly.
There's a little wear on the top, but I did that myself when I accidentally cleaned it with alcohol to remove some dirt.
This is a truly interesting product, an EISA award winner, that comes equipped with both a CD-TEXT input for a microphone and even a coaxial digital input—very useful if you want to rip a CD by capturing the signal from another CD.

The Philips CDR 951 is a high-end audio CD recorder (a high-fidelity, or Hi-Fi, component) released in the late 1990s (around 1998–1999) as part of Philips' classic 900 Series.
The Philips CDR 951 records at 1x speed. As a home audio recorder from the late 1990s designed for high fidelity (Hi-Fi) and adhering to conventional compact disc (CD-DA) audio standards, the recording process exactly matches the duration of the music: a 60-minute disc will take exactly 60 minutes to record.
Key Features
- Device Type: Single-tray CD recorder/player designed for high-quality home use, though with specifications approaching the professional level.
- Compatible Formats: Plays and burns conventional audio CDs (CD-DA), as well as supporting recordable and rewritable media (CD-R and CD-RW). Note: As a dedicated audio burner from that era, it requires specific “Digital Audio” CD-R discs for music, due to the copyright protection regulations in effect at the time.
- High-Quality Converters: It incorporated superior audio components, notably separate digital-to-analog (DAC AD1855) and analog-to-digital (ADC AD1877) converters, ensuring high sound fidelity.
- Sample Rate Conversion (SRC): It features a built-in converter (sample rate conversion from 12 to 56 kHz) that allowed external digital sources with different sample rates to be connected without compatibility issues.
Connectivity and Recording Options
- Digital Inputs and Outputs: It features coaxial and optical digital inputs, allowing for 1:1 copies without loss of quality from other digital sources (such as CD players or other devices).
- Analog Connections: Analog inputs and outputs with gold-plated RCA connectors.
- Microphone Input: Includes a front-panel microphone jack with variable volume control, ideal for basic mixing.
Advanced editing features:
- DLR (Direct Line Recording) system.
- Fade-in and fade-out functions.
- CD-Text editing and writing (up to 60 characters for naming tracks and discs).
Automatic recording start synchronization (CD Synchronized Auto Start) when a signal is detected at the inputs.
