Built with a Honduran mahogany body and a carved premium flamed maple top, the I-35 Deluxe delivers a harmonically rich, detailed and responsive voice that showcases the acoustic character of its tonewoods. The maple centre block adds focus, sustain and clarity, giving the guitar a quick, lively attack with an airy semi-hollow resonance.

This Tiger Eye Sunburst version (which is a premium upgrade) features a high gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish that highlights the depth and movement of the figured maple. As part of the Deluxe trim package, the body, fingerboard and peghead are bound in grained ivoroid, paired with custom ivoroid top hat knobs, ivoroid pickup rings and a matching ivoroid truss rod cover. These appointments are made in-house exclusively for Deluxe-level instruments, giving the guitar a distinctive, elegant aesthetic.

The Honduran mahogany neck is carved to Collings' electric C profile and joined with an extra-long mortise and tenon for maximum resonance. The rosewood fingerboard features long mother of pearl dot inlays and a 12 inch radius for a smooth, balanced playing feel. Nickel Gotoh tuners with Collings logo, a Kluson ABR-1 bridge and a Kluson stop tailpiece complete the hardware set.

A pair of Lollar Low Wind Imperial humbuckers provides the I-35 Deluxe with its articulate, open and dynamically rich tone. They pair beautifully with the solid carved construction, offering warmth and bloom for clean playing with exceptional clarity under gain. The wiring is classic 50s style, using CTS 500K pots and Jupiter Vintage Yellow capacitors for a smooth, musical response.
