The included PCIe FireWire card is an important part of the package, as only certain FireWire chipsets work reliably with the TASCAM IF-FW/DM. This exact combination was used successfully in my studio.

The DM-3200 can also be used as a DAW controller, including motorized faders, transport control, jog/shuttle and extensive routing capabilities.
