Alesis ADAT 16-Bit 8-Track Digital Audio RecorderIncludes Alesis LRC Remote Control
The Alesis ADAT (Alesis Digital Audio Tape) revolutionized home and project studios by making professional-quality digital multitrack recording affordable. This iconic recorder captures eight tracks of 16-bit digital audio onto standard S-VHS tape, the same format used by consumer VCRs.
By allowing multiple machines to be linked together for expanded track counts, the ADAT became the backbone of countless professional and project studios throughout the 1990s. Its impact on recording technology was so significant that the ADAT was inducted into the TEC Awards TECnology Hall of Fame in 2004 for helping launch a new era of accessible digital recording.
This unit includes the Alesis LRC (Little Remote Control), allowing convenient transport control and basic operation from a remote location—ideal for tracking sessions or studio setups where the recorder is mounted in a rack.
