Up for sale is a rare, pristine pair of Fostex TH500RP open-back planar magnetic (orthodynamic) headphones. These headphones are completely brand new, never used, and still in their original factory packaging.
The original box is included; it only shows minor shelf wear on one corner from storage (see photos).
IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING AGE & MATERIALS (PLEASE READ): These headphones were manufactured around 2014. Because they have been sealed in the box for 12 years, the synthetic leather (PU leather) on the earpads and the headband may have degraded naturally over time due to aging. They might feel brittle or start peeling upon opening or first use. This is a known cosmetic characteristic of unused vintage/older stock gear and is fully reflected in the price.
The aluminum/magnesium construction, cables, and the planar drivers themselves are untouched and in 10/10 functional and aesthetic condition.
