From the days when modeling was still completely analog with tube amplification in a 19-inch format.

Made in Germany, year of manufacture: approximately mid/late 1990s.

The Hughes & Kettner Attax is a rack-mountable preamp with three channels: Clean, Crunch, and Lead, covering a wide range of sounds from vintage clean to heavy distortion.

Switchable via MIDI, as the optional MIDI module is already installed here.

Equipped with a 12AX7 tube.

The clean channel has its own three-band equalizer with bass, mid, and treble.

The crunch and lead channels share a common tone control, but have separate gain and volume knobs.

There are also two effects loops on board: a serial mono FX loop with send and return jacks, and a parallel stereo loop with one send and two return jacks (left/right), which allows for stereo setups.

Two frequency-corrected recording out jacks simulate the sound of a miked 4x12 guitar cabinet—ideal for studio and live DI applications.

There is also a headphone output for silent practice.
