This is the MXR M116 Fullbore Metal – a compact, unapologetically aggressive distortion pedal built for tight riffs, heavy rhythm sounds and saturated metal leads.

The extensive controls make it much more adjustable than a typical high-gain distortion: Volume and Gain are joined by a three-band EQ with a sweepable mid-frequency control. The Scoop switch instantly adds the familiar deep-low-end and cutting-top-end metal character, while the switchable noise gate keeps high-gain stops and rhythm parts tight. The gate sensitivity can also be adjusted internally.
